Growing up in India, Holi was the highlight of my spring. It’s a joyful celebration that marks the arrival of spring with an explosion of colors, music, dance, and sweets. As a child, I’d run around with family and friends, chasing each other with powdered colors, laughing endlessly, and savoring delicious treats. It wasn’t just fun — it was freedom, joy, and connection all wrapped into one day.

After moving to the States, I found it challenging to hold onto that tradition. But over time, I discovered a vibrant community that shares the same love for cultural heritage. This past weekend, I celebrated Holi with my family and friends here, and it brought back all those cherished memories. From dancing to traditional tunes to sharing sweets and smearing each other in joyful bursts of color — it was everything Holi is meant to be.

Holi isn’t just about color play — it’s deeply symbolic. Each hue represents a beautiful message: red for love, green for growth, blue for calm, yellow for happiness.
