Fusion hair extensions are the perfect semi-permanent hair solution for those who want to wake up every day with gorgeous hair. It is one of the simpler hair installation methods and provides complete freedom to style your hair however you’d like. Keep reading to find the best fusion hair method for you!
Hot Vs. Cold
Fusion hair has two different installation methods. The hot fusion method uses keratin glue to bond the extensions to the hair. A stylist will install the u-tip by melting keratin base with a fusion hair iron (on a low heat setting) and wrap it around a small section of hair. I-tips can also be used for a hot install, however, additional keratin (such as our keratin fusion glue pebbles) will be needed to bond the i-tips to the hair. Cold fusion is a slightly simpler method. With cold fusion hair extensions, a stylist will install the i-tips using micro ring beads (also known as micro links). Your stylist will pull a few strands of hair through the micro ring, and feed the top of the i-tip through as well. Then the beads are simply clamped down with some hair extension pliers for a secure hold.
All About I-Tips
I-tips are great for those who have thin hair. It provides you with fuller hair that you can style however you’d like! The small, 3.5mm shoelace-type tip allows for a completely natural blend that is undetectable. I-tips are great because they can be installed using a hot or cold method. The choice is yours! One installation typically lasts for about 4-8 weeks, and can be reinstalled 3-4 times before the extensions need to be replaced.
The 411 on U-Tips
U-tips are meant for those with healthy hair. The keratin bond provides a stronger hold, as the the flat tip is heated to mold around the hair. These extensions do not experience slippage, as the extension is bonded to the hair and will remain so until the bond is cracked or removed with a solvent. This installation will also last anywhere between 4-8 weeks and can be reinstalled. When reinstalling the extensions, additional keratin glue will be needed to maintain a strong bond.
Beaded Wefts 101
Beaded wefts combine the thickness of a weave with the ease of an i-tip installation. No braiding, or glue required! This method is great because it allows the wearer to leave their hair out, allowing for more volume and length to be added. Our beaded wefts have the micro ring beads sewn onto the weft so that your stylist can install the hair quickly and more efficiently. These extensions need to be touched up about every 4 weeks and lasts for about 1-2 installations.
